The Southern Table Tradition
There was a time when dinner wasnât rushed. When everyone sat down together â kids, parents, grandparents â sometimes even neighbors or cousins who âjust stopped by.â
The food went in the center:
-
Big bowls of mashed potatoes
-
Cast iron cornbread
-
Green beans cooked low and slow
-
Fried chicken stacked high
-
Sweet tea sweating in tall glasses
And nobody ate until everyone was seated.
It wasnât about the furniture. It was about togetherness.
But finding a table big enough to truly hold that tradition? That was harder than we thought.
