He rotated it again, this time more slowly, listening carefully.

He moved closer to the light and began examining every detail of the object. Years of dust and discoloration had made its surface difficult to read, but under stronger illumination, tiny markings began to emerge.
That’s when he noticed something he hadn’t paid much attention to before.

There was a circular pattern engraved into the metal.
At first, it looked decorative.
Perhaps it was simply an old manufacturer’s mark or an ornamental design from the period when the object was made.
But after looking at it more carefully, he realized that the pattern didn’t look entirely decorative.
The circles and lines appeared to align with a series of incredibly small grooves.

Almost as if different sections of the object had been designed to move in relation to one another.
He turned the object slightly and watched the engraved pattern from another angle.
The grooves seemed to continue around the surface.
His curiosity deepened.
Could the object have been designed to open?
Could the strange clicking sound be coming from a hidden locking mechanism?
He carefully ran his fingers along the metal, searching for anything that felt different.
There were no obvious buttons.
