📍 Where Do They Usually Appear?

Mucoceles most commonly appear:

✔️ On the inside of the lower lip
✔️ Under the tongue
✔️ On the inner cheek
✔️ Occasionally on the floor of the mouth

When it forms under the tongue and becomes larger, it’s sometimes referred to as a “ranula.”

🔍 What Do They Look and Feel Like?

Typical characteristics include:

  • Soft or jelly-like texture

  • Clear, pink, or bluish color

  • Painless in most cases

  • Size ranging from a few millimeters to over a centimeter

They often fluctuate in size. Some shrink temporarily and then return.

While they may look concerning, most mucoceles are benign (non-cancerous).
