COVID-19 vaccinated individuals may be ill…See more

Recent research is now attempting to answer a much more complicated question: what actually happens inside the immune system when these rare reactions occur?

Scientists have begun identifying specific immune signals that may be involved, potentially providing clues about why some individuals develop inflammation while the overwhelming majority do not.

What Is Myocarditis?

Myocarditis is inflammation of the myocardium, the muscular tissue that makes up the heart.

The condition can interfere with the heart’s normal function because inflammation may affect the heart muscle’s ability to contract or disrupt its electrical activity. In severe cases, myocarditis can lead to abnormal heart rhythms or impaired heart function.

However, myocarditis is not exclusively associated with COVID-19 vaccination.
