There is something special about watching birds circle through the evening sky as daylight fades. Among the most fascinating are Chimney Swifts, fast-moving birds that spend most of their lives in flight and create dramatic spirals at dusk.Book a Safari
These birds are often heard and seen during warm summer evenings, when their chirping fills the air above towns and neighborhoods. Unlike most birds, Chimney Swifts rarely perch on branches. Instead, they are constantly in motion, feeding on insects while flying.
Historically, they nested in hollow trees, caves, and cliffs. As humans changed the landscape, they adapted to using brick chimneys, which provided the same dark, vertical shelter they needed.
However, modern construction has reduced the number of suitable chimneys. Many older structures have been removed or sealed, leaving swifts with fewer safe nesting sites.Book HVAC Repairs
